Terms & Conditions

At The K9 Spa we focus on providing a safe and secure environment for your dog and it is important that you share as much information about your special K9 as possible.  This will help aid the grooming process for the safety of your dog whilst he/she is in our care.

PRIOR TO THE GROOM

Cancelling and rescheduling - Please be mindful that when you forget or cancel an appointment without giving sufficient notice we miss the opportunity to fill that appointment time, and any clients on the waiting list miss the opportunity to receive services.

As time is reserved specifically for your pet the following fees and terms apply:

  • There are no fees applied for cancellations or reschedules that have given 48 hours or more notice
  • No-shows and cancellations giving less than 48 hour notice will result in a charge equal to 50% of the reserved treatment amount
  • Please also see the associated fees for unacceptable K9 Behaviour whilst at The K9 Spa

If you are cancelling your appointment outside normal working hours please leave a voicemail providing your name, dogs name, time and date of appointment.

Late Arriving & Collection - Please arrive and collect on time for all appointments. Whilst we will do our utmost to accommodate clients that arrive late, clients arriving more than 15 minutes late has a knock on affect for the next client. We do appreciate you may be late through no fault of your own, and we will do our utmost to accommodate you, however we do have a duty to other clients who keep to their appointment times. We work on an appointment only service and if you are later than 15 minutes a retaining fee of £10 per half an hour will be applied.

Pricing - All prices are guide prices only; we will give you an exact cost at your appointment. Please note that prices for puppies are only applicable to dogs 14 weeks to 6 months of age.

Pricing is based on breed, hair length, coat condition, temperament, age, and grooming history. Please be advised a supplement will apply if your dog is seriously matted, has fleas, or has not been groomed within the recommended grooming schedule for their breed.

Fleas - Please note that dogs with fleas cannot be accepted. If your dog has fleas please treat them prior to visiting the Spa.  Should your dog be brought to us with fleas, a flea supplement of £15 will apply. This covers the cost of the products required to treat your dog; all towels being bagged and washed separately, the Spa being de-flead and thoroughly cleansed and disinfected prior to the next client arriving for their appointment.

Pre Your Appointment - Please ensure that your pet has been to the toilet before bringing them to the Spa. A full bladder or bowel can be very uncomfortable for a dog whilst it is being groomed.  If you dog toilets during the service resulting in an additional bath, a cost of £10 will be added to cover the additional time.

Health & Well Being - If your pet is not feeling well (i.e., diarrhoea, vomiting or kennel cough) please do not bring him/her to the Spa for their own comfort. Please also note that The K9 Spa is unable to accept dogs that are pregnant or in season.

DURING THE TREATMENT

Treatment Times - An approximate completion time will be given for your pet's treatment when you drop them off, we will ring or text you when your K9 is ready 15 mins prior.

K9 Behaviour - The K9 Spa will refuse the use of its facilities if there is evidence of behaviour that may be considered dangerous i.e., aggressive dog behaviour that inhibits the groom, this is deemed unacceptable. As a safety aspect for both your pet and the groomer, we reserve the right to stop the groom and in this case a 50% charge of the treatment will be charged regardless of how much of the grooming treatment has been completed.

Mats, Tangles & Knots - If the condition of a dog’s coat is severely matted and incapable of de-matting without causing undue stress and pain to the dog, the dog may be clipped off for reasons of health and well being. We do not accept liability arising for the removal and clipping off mats.  This can include irritation, nicks, redness and ear hepatomas and you may be liable for any costs.  Mats can only be removed by going under the mat with the blade.  Under the guidance of the Animal Welfare Act 2006, owners and keepers are responsible for ensuring the welfare needs of their animals are met - the Act states that, as The K9 Spa is the ‘keeper’ whilst they are in our care,  its our duty of care under the Act to ensure that your pet is protected from pain, injury and suffering.  Owners will be advised and be required to provide their consent prior to a coat clip off. We will discuss and provide a suggested maintenance programme that is bespoke to you and your pet to help minimise mats, tangles and knots.
